Compulsory/Elective Courses (M.Sc./Ph.D. in Chemistry)

According to Gazi University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations (Official Gazette Date: 11.06.2019 Official Gazette Number: 30798):

*Graduation, diploma and diploma supplement procedures are regulated according to the provisions of the relevant legislation accepted by the Senate.

* Matters related to the preparation and conclusion of master's and doctoral thesis are determined according to the procedures and principles approved by the Senate .

* AGNO for graduation; at least 2.50/4.00 in master's programs with thesis; PhD programs must be at least 3.00/4.00. Students who have not met the graduation requirement despite completing their total credits meet this requirement by taking new  courses /  courses .

*Total credits of graduate programs are at least 120 for the master's program with thesis; minimum 240 ECTS credits for the doctoral program.

*Master's program with thesis; Not less than 60 ECTS credits, one course and a seminar course on scientific research techniques, research and publication ethics (Amended phrase: RG-29/9/2020-31259), at least nine courses including the thesis preparation course and thesis study courses It consists of at least 120 ECTS credits.

*PhD program; Not less than 60 ECTS credits, one course and a seminar course on scientific research techniques, research and publication ethics (Amended expression: RG-29/9/2020-31259), at least nine courses including the thesis preparation course, proficiency exam and It consists of at least 240 ECTS credits together with the thesis study courses.

* At least 120 above-mentioned in order to graduate from the master's program; For the doctoral program, it is necessary to successfully complete the 240 ECTS credit courses and to be successful in the thesis study by successfully defending the research on a subject in the form of a thesis in front of the jury under the supervision of the thesis advisor.

Compulsory courses are offered every semester. Elective courses may vary.

The course is opened by the thesis advisor and continues until the Master's Thesis study course is taken, including the summer months.

DOCTORAL THESIS STUDY

A student who is successful in the Ph.D. Thesis Preparation course, completes the course period and successfully completes the Proficiency Exam takes the Master Thesis Study course.

The course is taken until the graduation of the student, including the semester and summer months.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

Z

A doctoral student who successfully completes the courses, has a passing grade of 3.00/4.00 and wants to take the doctoral proficiency exam registers for this course at the beginning of the semester.

Students enrolled in the postgraduate doctorate program must take the proficiency exam by the end of the fifth semester at the latest, and the students enrolled in the postgraduate doctorate program by the end of the seventh semester at the latest.
